This blue satin sash is composed of a long, pleated rectangle from which hang a pair of evenly spaced rectangles to form a type of apron or openwork cape. The entire garment is lined in white satin and pink and white cotton. It is embellished with gold and copper metallic tapes and fringe. The "neck" rectangle is decorated with an appliqued copperplate print image of a child's bust on white silk satin. The long side rectangles are each embellished with designs in gold and silver tape.
