Oval bandbox (A) and lid (B). Box is covered with a yellow paper over which a cut-out flocked wallpaper border has been applied. Flocked paper has roses printed in yellow, metallic gold, reds and greens on a crimson ground. Rim of lid is covered in a paper with a floral stripe printed in greens, pinks, and blues on a crimson ground. Top of lid is covered in a paper with a neoclassical ornament and three flowers printed in crimson, gold and blue on a light gray ground. A lithograph has been cut out and glued to the interior of the box lid. The scene depicts two women and a man sharing a meal while two other figures peer in a window.
