Description

This mother hubbard-style gown was meant for home use only. Constructed of cotton printed with a repeating floral vine in red on a cream-colored ground, it has long sleeves, a full skirt, high neck with a banded collar and a yoke with small extensions over the sleeve tops at the shoulder. Collar and yoke are trimmed in contrasting deep red cotton with a geometric print. Hook and eye closure at neckline; snap closure at yoke. Inner bodice lined with white cotton; center front of lining is banded with self fabric and has four buttons and holes. Self-tie belt attached at center back with one button closure; deep ruffle at hem.
