Description

Two-piece dress of pale green taffeta. Bodice (A) is a curious style. Pale green taffeta with blue and pale green striped trim at square neckline in form of lapels extending to hip. Long fitted sleeves with double ruffle at waist of blue and green pleated band with blue and green bows. 10 blue and green striped buttons at front with hook and eye closure in back of buttons. Blue and green bows added at front to cover alteration. Back has inserted blue and green striped panel extending to peplum and around hemline. Bodice lined with white pinstriped cotton twill. White lace ruffle at decolletage. Skirt (B) is tucked at front with inserted panel of several ruffles of blue and green striped material. Panel bordered by row of applied blue and green ribbon hiding alterations. 3 ruffled blue and green striped bands around hem. Box pleats at back. Center back closure with hook and eye at waist. Fully lined with cotton petticoat with cartridge pleats at waist. Pocket on right side hidden in pleats. 3 pairs of cotton tape ties for bustle. Train. Hem lined with crinoline.
