Description

Wood surface mount box with iron works mortised in. Single recessed dovetail-shaped iron coverplate on back conceals all the works. Plate secured with wrought nails. Iron strapping (E-type) applied to face of wood box at either end. Assembly was bolted to door with three square shank bolts (round head to exterior) still extant. Two square nuts also extant. Deadbolt (1 3/4" x 7/8" x ?" long) is key-operated from both sides. Iron key included.
