Description

Polychrome silk rendering of coat of arms in tent stitch on linen ground worked in green. Foliate forms surround central shield rendered in red silk and metallic thread. Shield surmounted by helmet and bird's wing rendered in metallic thread. Square, black molded frame; glass. Pattern attributed by Ring to John & Samuel Gore. Nearly identical to Cushing family coat of arms, probably worked in the same school by girls in the same class.
