Description

A) White clay body with colorless glaze. Bulbous undulating form, reminiscent of mid-Eastern forms, with squat bulbous bottom on a circular foot ring, swelling to a narrower center (bell-like) with a knop at neck and terminating in a cylindrical neck with circular mouth ring. Decorated with overglaze enamel wash and gilt. Bottom area with ribbon motif with gilt floral and scroll border, surmounted by swags of rose; center with pink reserve with gilt borders. Gilt banding with blue stripe at knop. Gilt neck. B) Conforming stopper is cone shaped finial on bowl-shaped body.
