Description

A miniature portrait on ivory of a young woman in a white pique dress with a high frilled collar, wearing a hair necklace with gold clasps and a large tortoiseshell backcomb. She is pictured in front of a blue ground and is framed (possibly later as the miniature is smaller than the mat) in an eglomise gold and black mat and a gilded wood frame with applied twists.
