Description

This round lidded sewing basket is made from sweetgrass and ash splints. It has alternating horizontal bands of braided and unbraided sweetgrass; a center band, wide vertical stripes are darker colored; lip of basket formed by several unbraided bands of sweetgrass held in place by a single lash of ash splint; lid pattern corresponds; single central handle is braided, rising slightly in center.
