Description

Full length positive-cut silhouette of William Henry Harrison pasted onto a lithographed background. Man is standing, facing right, with his right hand tucked into his right pocket. Window in background has a pair of fringed damask curtains held up by curved tie backs. Window flanked by two tables, table on the left has a tapered and fluted leg, table on right is an Empire table with ball foot. Rug patterned with circular floral medallions. Plain wood frame.

Label

William Brown produced an entire series of profiles of famous Americans, including several presidents and other political leaders. Brown's silhouetted figures, placed in appropriate settings, were reproduced lithographically by E. B. and E. C. Kellogg and published in Portrait Gallery of Distinguished American Citizens in 1846.
