This lidded spherical compote is made of colorless flint glass pressed in a mold. The lid is topped with a deeply notched ball knop. The body rests on a ribbed stem that terminates in a circular foot. Both lid and body are decorated with repeating oval patterns that resemble thumbprints, giving this style its name.
