Description

Modified sleigh-bed style. Headboard is a rectangular panel enclosed by bulb and ball-shaped jigsaw cut legs surmounted by round crest or cross bar Marlborough feet. Identical footboard. Side rails are rectangular planks swelling slightly at join to legs. Painted red overall with gilt line borders overall. Repainted in late 19th century, with traces or original lighter, more orange original color.
