. 1 is hat of black silk pile imitating beaver, with high sheen; black lace hat band, bowed in back with long extensions; small black velvet bow at hatband front center; lined with padded brown taffeta with brown braided silk drawstring; interior lined with stiffened paper and brown taffeta; black elastic chin strap. . 2A is botton of hat box; cardboard covered externally with dark eggplant colored paper, natural twill ties; writing on exterior bottom of box. . 2B is cover; cardboard with exterior top & sides covered with same eggplant paper; top edges painted gold (darkened).
