This fragment of cotton is copper-plate printed in a large-scale monochrome scene depicting a horse race, with men and women drinking and sporting on the racing grounds next to a structure, the "Turf Inn." Originally printed on a bleached ground in purple, red or deep brown/black that has shifted to a rust brown shade. Unlined.
